Leveraging technology to achieve carbon targets 

One of the key elements to ensuring the UK successfully achieves its 2050 carbon targets is the use of heat networks, but their success is dependent on consumer experience. Having access to energy usage has been proven to encourage mindful consumption, reducing energy usage and providing cost savings.

Understanding the benefits of providing a positive customer experience, Insite and SAV approached us with a challenge; create a cloud-based, mobile-responsive website to help them achieve their goal of becoming the lowest-cost pay-as-you-go heat network.

Working closely with their in-house team, we developed KURVE the UK’s first-to-market digital smart metering web-app for heat networks.

With customer experience at the forefront of all decisions, we began the initial branding, then developed a full suite of designs and executed the application build and testing.

The result was an intuitive application that was easy to understand and navigate, despite the complexities of the app itself. With a natural customer interface that facilitates quick, simple payments and transactions, KURVE’s seamless user experience has proved to be a fantastic benefit to both consumers and clients.

Since launching in 2020, KURVE has been successfully rolled out across 10 heat network schemes, with a further 25 in the pipeline. KURVE has consistently proven to save money for both clients and customers, and was awarded ‘Heat and Efficiency: Digital Innovation of the Year’ award at the Decentralised Energy Awards in 2021.
